As an initiative Corporate Responsibility Watch is to focus on the below broad areas that according to us requires due diligence as a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility monitoring.

Affirmative Action: Affirmative action or positive discrimination is the policy of favoring members of a disadvantaged group who are perceived to suffer from discrimination within a culture In India, a quota system aka as Reservation is used whereby a certain percentage of jobs or school vacancies must be set aside for members of a certain group. In some other regions, specific quotas do not exist; instead, members of minorities are given preference in selection processes.

 

Workplace Disability: A comprehensive human rights definition for people with disabilities is an evolving concept, stating that persons with disabilities include those who have long‐term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments which in interaction with various barriers may hinder their full and effective participation in society or the workplace on an equal basis with others

Gender Discrimination: Gender discrimination in the workplace happens when an employee is treated differently because of his or her gender. Whenever gender discrimination in the workplace affects the terms and conditions of employment, it is illegal. Where there is gender discrimination in the workplace, there is often sexual harassment issues as well.
